Virage Logic Corp. Opens R&D Site in Eindhoven
Company Also Establishes Dutch Corporation
Virage Logic Corp. (Fremont, CA), a provider of semiconductor intellectual property for the design of complex integrated circuits, has established a Dutch corporation in conjunction with its new research and development (R&D) center located in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
The location opened after the company’s acquisition of NXP’s horizontal advanced CMOS intellectual property rights. R&D at the site will focus on new products based on CMOS I/Os, analog mixed signal. The site will also provide support to NXP.
Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs Maria van der Hoeven attended the opening ceremonies of Virage’s new R&D center, and expressed appreciation at the company’s selection of Eindhoven for its new venture.
“We are pleased to welcome Virage Logic to the region and we will continue to support new world-class establishments in this geographical area, which is regarded as a cutting-edge European region in technology,” said Minister van der Hoeven. “The Eindhoven region has already been called the ‘Silicon Valley of the Netherlands.’ Let's do everything we can to live up to this reputation.”
