Dutch Labor Force is Among Europe’s Most Productive

Netherlands Ranks Highly for Business-Friendly Practices

The Dutch workforce is the second most productive labor force in the European Union, according to the European Commission’s annual competitiveness report. Ireland’s workforce took the top spot in the rankings.

The report, “Industrial Policy: Reinforcing Competitiveness,” examined the industrial competiveness of EU member states.

The Netherlands also ranked highly on its business-friendly practices and efforts to reduce red tape.

The competitiveness report noted that the Netherlands could improve its efforts in the area of innovation, and the Commission has urged the Dutch government to invest more in research and development, particularly in the energy industry.
